I just came back from a laser hair removal consultation. There are two places one is charging $2200, while the other is charging 1100 for the jawline, sideburn, upperlip and chin area. The more expensive is Reveal MedSpa the other is Vivia center. The later is not a desi place but a majority of their clients are middle eastern women. Both the receptionist were Arab, and they both said they do the laser and have no problem.
I am so wanting to go ahead and try it but a tiny part of me is still so scared to do this to my face with the fear of burning or having an akward stubble during the in-between sessions period. Which they say i can come in as frequently as 3 weeks apart.
Some one whose had this done please please guide me.
2200 sound alot to me, usuallly it cost $250 per session i mean for upperlip, chin and jawline, and all u need is 3-4 session. plus they usually have a good deal when u get 3 u will have one free or something like that, its osund quiet expensive to me, well ur right during that time is the hardest cuz while ur getting laser, u end up getting some mark, or redness which u can tell esily u have something done. i remember when i got a laser, i had horriable marks on my face, it went away but i hated and afer 6 yrs my hair started to come back now im thinkin of gettin again but only thing worried is the horrible marks..
The 2200 amt is for 5 sessions. The 1100 amt is for 6 sessions and up to 6 additional sessions (free) if needed.
Cyme, you had this done before? Marks? what kind of marks? That is another reason why I am getting it done, I feel that threading always makes me get pimples which always leave a dark spot which lasts for months. So the laser would eliminate that problem. And your hair is coming back? how thick? is it light and sparse?
i think its been more than 6 years ago i had laser and it was 4 seesion i had,, after that i stoped cuz of the mark on my face, which was a burn mark, it goes away, after the 4 sesseion very few hair and most of them gone, i did had very dark and hard hair, now after 6-7 years they are all coming back, now im thinkin of gettin again, before when i had it someone told me i had those mark cuz the physican did laser real high frequency thats why i end up having marks, at that time laser was soo new, now im sure things has change, but tell u truth it is worth having it, i was so sick of doin treathing everyday, u get more eventone on ur skin, less pimple and its worth it, can't wait 4 me to do it again, this time im gona have it done 4 good so it doesn't come back the hair.. i think i should have had more than 4 session mabe 6 or somthing to, lets c how it will trun out this time, good luck saadia im sure it will work out good, make sure after lazaer u follow up to takecare of ur skin , using right mositureizing, sunscreen, or anything protect ur skin,,
i've had laser hair removal done on my face, no problems...paid arnd 200 per session. i think u get the marks only if u have really sensitive skin. as someone mentioned, it also helps with ur acne problem, my doc said somet abt the zapping part kills bacteria. anyways, i haven't had it done in abt 6 months and now i notice some hair growing back. i guess it's time to pay her a visit again.
I just talked to a friend of mine whose sister worked as a director at a national laser hair removal place. She said that the laser is great for people with really light skin and dark dark hair. But any other combinations don't respond well to laser. She said there have been too many hyperpigmentation problems and other complications when laser is used on the face especially for ppl with darker skin and/or sensitive skin.
that sounds right, there was a dark skinned girl in the office and she had scars from the laser, not on her face but on her arms and legs.
can't imagine what it must've cost her to get her whole body lasered! not to mention the pain!
one other thing, pressing an ice pack to the region just before zapping helps... you hardly feel any pain at all. however don't numb the skin too much because it makes it hard for the laser to pick up the hair, so u end up prolonging ur time on the torture table.
Thoguth I would add my two cents, I am getting my full legs, full bikini, under arms, half arms, sideburns, chin done for .... $3000 for 4 sessions.
The place I am going to is EXCELLENT... the lady was really upfront with me about how much hairloss I could expect... in the sense that I wanted my upper arms and she said the hair will not respond, same with my lower back...
I asked for full face and she was like she didnt recommend it,....because you have to shave and if u dont have success then u have just created THICK hair... so she only recommended doing it where i have thick hairs of the face....
Also, she did a test patch in all the areas i am getting done...about a three inch patch.... she then waited six weeks to see the results... and then booked me...
because like she said no point booking if its not helping..
That's great that you had such a helpful person. She seems to be honest. Please post your results once you have gone to one session. If you are fair skinned with dark hair I am sure you will have good results. I know I probably won't coz my hair is very light and my skin is not that fair. I guess it's spelled sanwali...thats my skin color.

These days laser is very popular, except you have to fine one who is trained and experienced (experienced is a must) as there are a lot of trained but not enough experienced so be careful who you go to.. Dont just trust anyone.
