Re: Someone is deleting my posts without any reason in All Views
That's unfortunate, and i'm sorry to hear that. And every moderator has his/her own style of moderating. But usually a reason is given. It might be an isolated incident that a reason was not given.
A clear guideline, and policy is followed in which nothing is just simply deleted so no one knows about it. Posts/Threads which are questionable are moved to Review Forum, where the admins or CMs can review the posts, and decide whether they should return to the forum they came from, or stay. Whether to take any sort of action towards the member, or cut the person some slack, and so on.
What can happen is, that a post maybe edited, while leaving the post intact in the forum. That is done at the discretion of the moderators. They are the judges of the content that is discussed in their respective forums, and if they see that a post has substance but has things which are out of line, or unnecessarily provocative to the topic being discussed then the irrelevant part maybe edited out. You will still see the post there, but parts of it maybe edited by a moderator. That's a norm.
It's true. I exposed firenze's dishonesty and hypocracy in one thread and I guess he didn't like it.
They were off-topic? You seriously don't believe that do you? My posts had everything to do with that thread. The thread was stereotyping about Pakistanis and I was talking about how those stereotypes were false. And I'll edit my post here.
Refer me which thread it was, I will see what can i do regarding it. Next time refrain from personal attacks, it will not take you any where !

I know you guys have a life outside Gupshup as well and most of you's do the job to a set standard but it would help if a number of them in the Mod' team would put their ego's aside and judge accordingly.

Fairness and unbiased moderation is the goal. Moderators are answerable to CMs and CMs are answerable to the Director.
So no one really gets off scott-free, if any kind of favoritism or bias is found.
If u cuss of a mod simple u get a warning or ur post gets deleted...
Like a mod said to me yesterday when I received a warning for calling another mod a "Fool" I Quote: " I appreciate all members, but i do not take lightly any of them going haywire at team members. Period".
It's funny I have got into disagreements with genral users and its been seen as entertainment, but as soon as I have a disagreement with a mod(or prove tht they are wrong and pathetic) threads get deleted, I get false explanations on why that action/decision was made, posts get removed, I receive warnings blah blah blah.....
You don't know the half of it ; )
I'd be a fool for using the word(s) that was used and resulted in warning. Anyways, this thread is not for that.
Well i did copy and paste my pm, but u guys didn't like tht, and thts why i received the warning..
U knw. I dont mind doing a copy and paste job again, so others do know the other half....
Re: Someone is deleting my posts without any reason in All Views
It just so happens that a certain member was going around insulting a team member. The moderator did the right thing by approaching the Channel Manager, me. And i took appropriate action.
Period.
If a member feels that they have been mistreated, they can go higher than a Channel Manager, and approach the Director. He is an awesome person, and maintains an open-door policy. It very simple really. :)
We're all here to make it a fair and fun experience, but should there be problems, they need to be resolved through dialogue and civil language, not name-calling or insults or mud-slinging. That can further complicate the situation. The moderators are there to serve you and make it enjoyable for you to participate, if they are not doing that properly, Channel Managers are there for you to seek out to, If they do not do as you desire, then there is the Director. It's a proper system in place, so please utilize it.
Well, that’s unfortunate. And my apologies for a sour experience. Do let us know how to make it better. GupShup welcomes any suggestions, comments, and everyone is given priority.
