That's unfortunate, and i'm sorry to hear that. And every moderator has his/her own style of moderating. But usually a reason is given. It might be an isolated incident that a reason was not given.
A clear guideline, and policy is followed in which nothing is just simply deleted so no one knows about it. Posts/Threads which are questionable are moved to Review Forum, where the admins or CMs can review the posts, and decide whether they should return to the forum they came from, or stay. Whether to take any sort of action towards the member, or cut the person some slack, and so on.
What can happen is, that a post maybe edited, while leaving the post intact in the forum. That is done at the discretion of the moderators. They are the judges of the content that is discussed in their respective forums, and if they see that a post has substance but has things which are out of line, or unnecessarily provocative to the topic being discussed then the irrelevant part maybe edited out. You will still see the post there, but parts of it maybe edited by a moderator. That's a norm.
I know you guys have a life outside Gupshup as well and most of you's do the job to a set standard but it would help if a number of them in the Mod' team would put their ego's aside and judge accordingly.
