Gang… it seems like someone didn’t like me posting this topic… so the dheet person I am… I am going to post it again. When you go to yahoo.com… and do a general search on Pakistan, you get a lot of hits for sites that deal with Pakistan. But for the life of me, I cannot figure out why the advertising banner at the top of the search results page always says “eIndia” or advertising some of their service.
So… my question… AGAIN… is that we have a site “ePakistan”, why isn’t it being advertised there?

** The simple answer is Yahoo displays advetisement banners which bear some relation to the word typed for search.
Among the advertisers on Yahoo, eIndia comes closest to the word u typed (i.e. Pakistan) ***

Also it looks like ePakistan.com or for that matter, any other Pakistani site (including Pak.org) does NOT have enough mullah to advertise on Yahoo !!*

you are right Wordsmart, I replied to your original post and now can't find it...
anyways, Some1 is right, a search engine will display your banner if your prespecified WORD is typed in for search; it charges a small rate for this service...
so for example, pakistan is (probably) a KEYWORD for eIndia and thus their banner is displayed...and each time the ad is displayed, they get billed...simple as that
