Aren't the traps and temptations a part of the test? To see whether we exercise our free will in a positive manner or a negative manner?
If we go back to the the Creation story, we were flawless up until a certain point. Yet due to our own arrogance we succumbed to the one thing which we were asked not to do. So could we not say we as humans are flawed since then? Furthermore, some of the suffering which does take place, is it not created by ourselves?
A test in that this life is temporary. Think of it as an entrance exam for what is to come (the Akhirah)
Whilst I agree, why does suffering occur when we do have Allah, I have not been able to figure that out for myself but would akin it to life being a test.
