I think asking questions is a good thing. Allah asks us all to seek knowledge. It is better to ask and probe rather that to follow religion blindly and as if it was a method.
I believe that Allah created us all for a reason. In the greater scheme of things we may seem irrelevant because there are billions of people also around us but I believe each and every one of has a reason, which we may not realise in this lifetime. I dont think you ahve to be a Mother Teresa or a Gandhi figure, but aslong as you are fair, just and honest in your lifetime and adhere to what is asked of you, then you do have a purpose. After all, we don't know which of our actions may please the Almighty the most.
Allah gave us free will. Ideally we should do right rather than wrong and for this Allah has given us guidelines and encourages us to do good to all and bad to none. Allah has decided our destiny yet there is also margin for one to exercise their free will. For example, if one has an exam coming up and does not revise/study and sits and wait for their destiny to decide their outcome and help them, then unfortunately it does not work that way. We are encouraged to help ourselves become better and I think that is where free will kicks in as well as our daily actions which all culminate to the end.
Allah is merciful and benevolent. He created us therefore He knows us better than anyone. Like I mentioned previously, we don't know which one of our actions may please Allah the most. He is also the most forgiving, so no matter even if you are evil, if you honestly want forgiveness and want to mend your ways, then do ask for repentence.
Therefore, in conclusion, I would say and personally believe (for you it could be different), that we should strive to become better beings. Be just, fair and honest in our conduct. Ask for true forgiveness and work upon being better people. This life is a test and there are certain guidelines which have been asked of us (5 pillars) and we should try to achieve those as best we can.
Thank you, it makes sense.
But why create such a horrible place where people will suffer and burn for enernity? What good is that going to do? Why create something which is prone to making the wrong choices, why make temptations and traps, and then when the person falls into them, they would be given the torments noone can even imagine.
Like hareem said, life is a test. What are being tested for? Our creator is flawless and could well have created us flawless. Why leave margin for error and then punish what you created?
