From simple, I will start explaining a little more now.
Actually, a Murshid can save you from Questions of Munkir and Nakeer as well as torment of the grave. He will also make sure that you reach Aalim-e-Barzakh and stay there till the judgement day. He will then be with you on the Day of Judgement and you will stand under his umbrella till you are called by ALLAH for questioning.Then again, if You have kept your Murshid happy(You keep Murshid happy by doing what He tells you to do, and what He tells you to do is always what ALLAH/religion tells you to do) during lifetime, then ALLAH may let you go again coz of ur Murshid.
In your life time, the Murshid will again play a part and make dua for you everynight and will make sure you never get in a problem.He is responsible that you never sleep empty stomach or never get jobless etc and that you always get what you desire. In return you have to serve him,which is by abiding what Islam says and for example,if u find praying namaz difficult,he will ask ALLAH to create circumstances for you to pray namaz easily
