Some of my work-Kapray Shapray on FB

I saw some Warda Lawn prints recently with ribbon work on the damun. I think the trend will stay for a while.

No..no..no....I didn't mean I don't trust her.Good heavens,no.

It's just easier transferring money this way.Mr CO refuses to use WU,'cos their charges are high...that's all. And, I really don't want to ask rellies in Pakistan to pay 'cos they will ask 101 questions.

re: Some of my work-Kapray Shapray on FB

CO.. you know they are about the same. Only with WU you have to pay the fees upfront. With Paypal the recipient has to pay the fees and I would think most sellers would end up putting up their prices a bit to account for this.. especially if their profit margin is already small.

re: Some of my work-Kapray Shapray on FB

Don't know if this will help you CharmedOne, and others...but I use UBL (United Bank) Remit online...You can create an account with this Pakistan-based bank just for transfers. In other words, you can link your online UBL account with your US or UK or whatever account, and then initiate transfers through UBL. They can transfer directly to another UBL account, or courier a check for you. You can either do the transfer from a credit card, or a bank account...there is no fee if you transfer from a bank account if you do at least $300 US at a time, and there is a percentage-of-transaction fee if you use a credit card.

I just did this for an order placed with prototype and she got the check within a week or so. I've used it a couple of times to send money for clothes to family/friends as well over the past few years, with no issues, alhamdulilah. I don't think I can post a link here yet, but just google UBL Remit and the link should come up.

Just to be on the safe side...since it is an actual transfer out of my account, I keep a seperate checking account for this kind of stuff just in case of any fraud, etc., so our main account could never be emptied, Allah na karey, but you never know...

re: Some of my work-Kapray Shapray on FB

^You can only use Click and Remit if you have a U.S. bank account. This is the same with PakRemit.

The only option UK buyers have is Western Union.

Paypal doesn't exist in Pakistan either, so it's not the fault of the sellers that they can't offer it.

From their FAQ:

32. Since I am residing outside USA, I do not have an account with any bank in USA, can I remit?
No! You can not remit from outside USA unless you have an account in any bank in USA. Presently the product does not support transactions from an account outside USA. However, we are planning to launch this product for the remitters from across the globe. Once the product is launched across the globe, you will know about it through our website and the media.

re: Some of my work-Kapray Shapray on FB

^ same here stoppit, I would like to use such services as Remit but I guess its only for US.

I will try sending a transaction to Lahore but I need a SWIFT for a branch, do you think I should call there and they will give it to me.

re: Some of my work-Kapray Shapray on FB

Hi Saadia,

You need the exact SWIFT code for the branch where the seller has their bank account. They should tell you what it is if you call them up - I have done it before. The seller should also be able to provide you with all these details along with branch address where they have their account.

re: Some of my work-Kapray Shapray on FB

Thanks stoppit,

I will call them up tomorrow, I know the other details, only the swift code was missing.

BTW an IBAN is really needed, coz sometimes it work fine without it, just using the account number instead.

re: Some of my work-Kapray Shapray on FB

charmed one: stoppit is right. paypal doesnt operate here in pakistan. they dont even have pakistan listed on their website. :bummer:

iksa: shipping to holland via pakistan post is 1400rs for first kg and 300rs for every extra kg via pakistan post excluding 16% taxes and 200rs for sealing and packing. http://www.pakpost.gov.pk/expresspost/isp.html

saadia b : so it didnt work ? I will call my bank and ask about IBAN and SWIFT code tomorrow IA and let you know.

Thanx for all your info. and help everyone:)....the only way we send money to pakistan is through money changers...so I'll see if I can get a cousin or someone willing to pay on my behalf and then I can send them the money.Think that's the only way round.
Mr CO reckons it's something to do with money laundering. You know you have to be uber careful when doing transactions...lord,all I want is a 'proto' original :)

Thanks.

lol. ok

are you in UK ?

Yes...how did you guess??:)

Thanks for catching that stoppit...I could have sworn that a friend of mine used it in the UK, but it's likely she has a US account as well since her parents live here...Sorry if I got anyone's hopes up :(

:smack: I just read London with your nick :hehe: sorry !

so I just asked my mamu in london. He uses this service for sending money to pakistan. he said yu can give them a call for details. they dont charge a fee for a certain limit of amount you send :

nobel e remittance
198 high street
walthamstaw
london

0208 521 8804
0208 520 8261

another option could be via Allied Bank. I dont know the details. alishaht used it for her payments. you can contact her for details
