Even **IF **the hatred was justified, should it reach the level of fanatical lunacy that we see with nutcases like OBL who love to kill and maim children? Should hatred lead us to leave all rational thought?
Because of irrational hatred, the people in Germany elected Hitler.
I thank Allah that OBL - or anyone like him - is **not **in charge anywhere, or they would slaughter tens of millions and make the holocaust look like a drive by shooting. There would be mass graves everywhere and bodies littering the streets.That is where irrational hatred leads. Have those that hate the West ever thought that they are giving near divine power to the West? Have they never thought that perhaps some of the blame may lie with us? Why do we have to blame ALL the problems on the insidious West? How about we do some **thinking **for a change

western people are fine but western governments are evil but again most governments in today's world are evil.

There's a difference between being evil and having no morals.

It's not that they'll go out of their way to kill people... But if there's benefit for them than they're willing to do it.

being evil> charge with first degree murder
n no moral> charge with second/third degree murder.

person with no moralz can get another chance, whereas evil wont give us a chance to him/her another chance to him/her self

I think what OBL does is very rational. I hate it, but it does have rhyme and reason to it. What he does is carefully planned out. He has an elaborate idea behind his actions. You and I may not agree with it, but painting him as a hysterical lunatic operating on instinct shuold be talk reserved for children.

We're adults...we can handle the truth. Rational thought can often lead to bad deeds...just look at the remarkable (in a most wicked sense) Nazi war machine. Indeed, colonialism ranks up there as well.

Infact, irrational ideas of what is good, along with morality, is what can save us from this cold, mechanistic rationalism. The problem is, morality is relative. Opinions to the contrary are always motivated by a personal belief.

Perhaps the only true universal principle I can think of is the promise to keep to oneself, if others keep to themselves. The golden rule is nice, but fails miserably as actionable wisdom without the implicit threat in my attenuated version.
