Some food for thought...

Re: Some food for thought…

Peace tweety_pie

I said abstract not impartial. We have dealt with these dichotomies in the past already. God will express upon us difficulty, ease and facilitate our decisions, put us in religious families and put us in non-religious families. People have proven that they can become good Muslims from all backgrounds, so we truly have no excuse, but the question and the way it was phrased suggests that one type of upbringing is better than another, which is false, because the parents have an Islamic duty to express Islam on to their children. Despite what their children will or will not become, the parents need to do x, y and z to fulfil their own requirements as Muslims.

However, all situations can be viewed either as a risk or as an opportunity. The reply is that both risk and opportunity co-exist and it is up to us which line to take.

Re: Some food for thought...

It depends really, if your growing up in a muslim country, most probably yes. If not, then most likely you wont be a muslim, altbeit there is that slight chance of you converting by research, marraige etc. but thats a very slight chance.

However, being brought up in that kind of environment, where religion is not mentioned, or encouraged from the start, the likelihood attitude of the majority of these kids would end up being not in favour of any religion. Hence it is very unlikely that they would even go out of there way, to research any religion or belief system, for the simple fact that religion has never been and most likely never will be a significant factor in thier lives.

So unless they're one of those lucky few who by chance turn towards religion, most of these kids will turn into athiests/agnostics etc. It is already happening here in this age where parents leave it up to the kids, and will continue to do so....and imo, it is definately not a good trend to follow merely to get an independent way or a real appreciation of the religion.

Secondly; your assumption that converts have far more concern and appreciation for islam than born muslims; is slightly baseless on the mere fact that the % of converts to islam compared to those born into the religion and are practising is relatively minute. Look in the right places and im sure you'll easily find the same amount and much more, of born muslims going out of thier way to practise Islam.

One example is muslims practising Islam in the west and so called Islamic countries, tend to go through similiar struggles at every step. Be it the prejudice of these societies or the ignorance of imposing families, they tend to be on par with most converts when it comes to practising, appreciating and standing up for what they actually believe in.

Re: Some food for thought...

that is not a justification at all. you should be very concerned that 9x % of bombings and killings are by muslims for muslims and for muslims. don't you see that?

taking that a step further, 98% of all bombings and killings occur in the name religion. and so people of all religions should be concerned about the dircet correlation between religion and violence.

Re: Some food for thought…

Any one who is sincere in understanding GOD will be guided and anyone who is not, will be left astray - hence some deny GOD altogether due to the inflictions, clamity, trying time one faces as a test from his Lord. Not knowing that every hardship must end because that is the promise of GOD and because that is what history teaches us - a little research will do in this case… However, here in Surah Aal-e-Imran (3) Allah :subhanahu: describes such people (Ool-ul-Albaab) Himself, for whom NO prophet or NO Book is needed to recognize ONE God (Aristotle did, and so did many sahaaba’s in Makkah before Muahhammad:saw2: and prophethood came as the stamp on their understanding):

:bism:

190] Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of night and day,- there are indeed Signs for men of understanding,-

191] Men who celebrate the praises of Allah, standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and contemplate the (wonders of) creation in the heavens and the earth, (With the thought): "Our Lord! not for naught Hast Thou created (all) this! Glory to Thee! Give us salvation from the penalty of the Fire.

192] "Our Lord! any whom Thou dost admit to the Fire, Truly Thou coverest with shame, and never will wrong-doers Find any helpers! "

193] “Our Lord! we have heard the call of one calling (Us) to Faith, ‘Believe ye in the Lord,’ and we have believed. Our Lord! Forgive us our sins, blot out from us our iniquities, and take to Thyself our souls in the company of the righteous.”

194] “Our Lord! Grant us what Thou didst promise unto us through Thine apostles, and save us from shame on the Day of Judgment: For Thou never breakest Thy promise.”

195] And their Lord hath accepted of them, and answered them: “Never will I suffer to be lost the work of any of you, be he male or female: Ye are members, one of another: Those who have left their homes, or been driven out therefrom, or suffered harm in My Cause, or fought or been slain,- verily, I will blot out from them their iniquities, and admit them into Gardens with rivers flowing beneath;- A reward from the presence of Allah, and from His presence is the best of rewards.”
