Problems of the muslims are plenty. Yet, I come here and either I see people dazed and talking about how “beautiful” Islam is or mandating others to put on beards/hijabs or mandating them not to.
So, lets be a bit proactive here.
Since we can’t conquer and transform the muslim ummah in one shot, what CAN we do?
I bet if each of us took on one small project, things could change dramatically!

I would start with myself.
In fact i already have. I started few months back and i will finish the whole translation in urdu this month Insha Allah. ( i can provide the urdu audio links on internet (this was the best use of internet and realplayer, i ever did))
If we believe Quran are words of God, then its hard to understand, why we do not want to know whats said in it.
Solution for Ummah…? I will try others to encourage and read Quran. That is the START.

alrite my apologies. i think i killed this thread through my misplaced attempts at humour.
re what we do for Muslims each day, i guess im cynical when I say that romantic ideas of local, minute actions resulting in massive upheavel of the present state of things are stuff dreams are made of. quite literally, because reality needs time. needs conscious, sustained effort, directed effort by a large group of people. given how fragmented we are, given how we spend whatever time we have arguing over whether 90 percent of us drink or dont, whether Tsunamis mean anything in light of scripture, how ahmedis are a threat to our existence, our unabating self pity and the reactionary, childish people who go from self pity to siding with cruelty..siding with the transgressors. under these circumstances, a bunch of students, arent bound to make much difference to the lives of others, immediately.
but yes, if you build anything, build yourself. for who knows, maybe you can gain enough influence, enough knowledge to actually contribute something to your people.
thats the line im taking atleast.
