Re: Soldiers of Allah - the Companions of Muhammad sallAllahu 'alayhe wasallam
Well, check who the Prophet (saw) felt most closest with.
“The fellow in whose company I feel most secure is Abu Bakr. If I were to make friendship with anyone other than Allah, I would have Abu Bakr a bosom friend of mine. For him I feel affection and brotherhood of Islam. No gate shall be kept open in the mosque except that of Abu Bakr” [Saheeh Al-Bukharee]
“There is no one among the people who has been more generous to me with his life and his property than Abu Bakr ibn Abi Quhaafa (radiallahu anhu) and if I was to take a bosom friend, I would take Abu Bakr as my bosom friend. But, the friendship of Islam is better. Block off every door in this Masjid except the door of Abu Bakr” [Saheeh Al-Bukharee]
Jundub (radiallahu anhu) narrates: “I heard the Prophet (sallallahu alaihe wa-sallam) five days before his death saying: "I declare my innocence before Allah that I should have any bosom friend among you for Allah Most High has taken me as His friend just as He took Ibrahim as His friend. If I were to take any bosom friend from my nation I would take Abu Bakr.” [Saheeh Muslim]
How can you call Hz. Muawiyah (ra) a munafiq when Hz. Ali in Abi Talib (ra) has claimed that there was not an iota of difference of faith between his followers and that of Hz. Muawiyah (ra)?
Following is what Hz. Ali (ra) has stated:
“The thing began in this way: We and the Syrians were facing each other while we had common faith in one Allah, in the same Prophet (s) and on the same principles and canons of religion. So far as faith in Allah and the Holy Prophet (s) was concerned we never wanted them (the Syrians) to believe in anything over and above or other than what they were believing in and they did not want us to change our faith. Both of us were united on these principles. The point of contention between us was the question of the murder of Uthman. It had created the split. They wanted to lay the murder at my door while I am actually innocent of it …” Nahjul Balagha - Letter 58
Leave the history books alone and pay heed what Hz. Ali (ra) has stated.
There is no dispute about this. Do you want me to eloborate further?
Sunni Reference: Sharh Ibn Al Hadeed Volume 6 page 71 !!!
You must be joking!!! I wish you had done some home-work before you copy-pasted this stuff.
Abi Al-Hadeed is a pure Mu’tazili [Rationalist]. He is neither a Shia nor a Sunni.
He is the same person who wrote Sarha Nahjul Balagha. I have quote from this book where Hz. Ali (ra) has put his own Belief on par with that of Hz. Muawiyah (ra). [This in no way compares rank and high standing of Hz. Ali (ra) to that of Hz. Muwiyah (ra)]
