When you make a contract with a solar company, they lease your roof to install panels. It can be a 10/20 yr lease. Different companies have different plans. The one I spoke with install it for free. They dont pay you nothing. But what they do is to make an agreement between you and your electricity supplier and fix the bill for a timeperiod based on your average consumption.
For example, if your average bill is 100$ per month, yr new bill will be 50$ per month.
The other attraction is the tax breaks that you can get from govt. Also I believe the town taxes are locked for about 15 years so there’ll be no further hike in them.
