Solar Eclipse and Pakistani JahaLaT

On Friday, 2008 August 01, there was a total eclipse of the Sun , visible from within a narrow corridor that traverses half the Earth.

The pictures on your right hand side were taken at the bank of River Indus , Sindh ..

where they half buried those lovely Girls in an expectation of a miracle..

Some Pakistani way of treating incurable diseases :smack:

Re: Solar Eclipse and Pakistani JahaLaT

i was pregnant when my auntie told me to sleep with my legs straight n stand straight n sit straight, n try not to bend my arms n legs too much, also not to dye my hair or put mehndi on coz if an eclipse happens during my pregnancy then the posture that i willl b standing/sitting in or the color of my hair blahblah is the way my kid will b born
now thats what u call jahil:smack:

Re: Solar Eclipse and Pakistani JahaLaT

....and guess what still we believe we deserve a righteous leader.

if this is not shirk then what it is?

Re: Solar Eclipse and Pakistani JahaLaT

Please don't generalize it to "Pakistan"... I'd like to know how many ppl were engaged in such acts. I'm not denying that there are ppl who do such things but they don't represent the majority by any means.

Re: Solar Eclipse and Pakistani JahaLaT

^ literacy rate of Pakistan is 49.9%, and 60% of its population lives in rural areas, and the country is still considered third world country…so i dont know what “Majority” picture you are highlighting.

  • majority is worst then this…see this video…and you will get a slight idea (even the example he paved of india, actually fits completely on us, Pakistani…in fact it is worse, as ppl leave their daughters on darga’s, astana, etc for their beloved peerz)

Strange, but i am sure its a small segment of society. Others even educated have their share of superstitions. These things will and are eroding away with increasing awareness and education.
