Does anyone else get this wave of nostalgia and sadness when you are hit by ‘sohndi khushboo’… we had the door leading to the backyard open, and it started raining unexpectedly…and all i could smell was this beautiful beautiful smell of rain and soil mixing together.. And it just reminded me of Pakistan and Abu Dhabi and people coming out to enjoy the rain. And one of my cousins saying ‘baarish ho rahi hai, baarish ho rahi hai’, she was opening the khirkiyaan and such a smile was on her face.
i dunno what the purpose of this thread is. Weird how one smell can take you back ten years.
Every kind of smelll has some sort of memory attached to it. The hot summer sun, mixed with spoiling rotten garbage...ahhh pakistan...i miss it :(
When I eat a lot of chilli or Punjabi Rajma, my next door neighbor complains of Sondhi Khushboo, and the sound of mortar fire coming out of my royal pakistani butt.
The spitfire grill.
