Gul was expensive in his second game against NSW. Conceded 41 of 4 overs and got 1 wicket however NSW managed 148 of 20 overs which was chased rather comfortably by Western Australia.

Re: Sohail Tanvir, Umar Gul - Australian Domestic T20 thread

Sounds like both Gul and Tanvir are playing quite decent.

As a sidenote, it is also interesting to note the performance of Australia's upcoming bench strength, and the ones who are touted to be in line for International debuts/call-ups.

Doug Bollinger

Beau Casson

Nathan Bracken (already remained a part of the team)

Shaun Marsh (was this guy a part of IPL?)

and, Darren Cullen.

All are touted as potentials to be regular in Australian National team.

1 wicket for Sohail in a gameagainst Victoria which Victoria won. Tanvir conceded 30 runs of 4 overs and didn’t get a chance to bat.

What is the update, if any?

I found the news of double-sided bats to be intriguing. The relevancy of it to the thread is that it will be used in the domestic T20 games this week.

Double sided bats? :smack: Are they turning cricket into mola-jatt movies? Will bowlers be allowed to throw two balls at same time?

Well, you have a point about the movies.

But in reality, do you think it will tilt the advantage more towards the batsmen?

Perhaps the only time a double-sided bat can come in the picture is when a batsman plays reverse-sweep, which is hardly seen though.

South Australialosttheir second consecutive match against New South Wales. Batting first SA scored 160 of 20 overs. Tanivr scored 6 runs. NSW chased the target in 18th over. Tanvir condeded 24 of 3 wicketless overs.

Re: Sohail Tanvir, Umar Gul - Australian Domestic T20 thread

At least Nathan Bracken performed good with the ball.

Sohail Tanvir made 30 runs not out and in 3 overs he gave away 16 runs with no wickets against queensland.

Umar Gul has been the highest wicket taker in the series so far with 12 wickets in 5 matches. Tanvir got 2 wickets in 4 matches.
