This is a GREAT GREAT effort by the legend Sohail Abbas, i mean we are talking about 21 Million Euros(expected to go up to 25 Million) which is around Rs 2 Billion.
This amount is more than offered by a quite a few COUNTRIES:eek: . It was all because of SOHAIL ABBAS " The legend".
Netherlands beat World XI 7-4: Sohail’s efforts raise 21 million euros for quake victims

KARACHI: Due to efforts of Pakistan’s former hockey player Sohail Abbas, a huge amount of 21 million euros was collected in the Dutch city of Rotterdam on Wednesday evening. The penalty corner specialist organized an exhibition match to collect funds for the earthquake victims of Pakistan. The match was played between Netherlands and World XI teams. The Dutch national team defeated World XI 7-4.
Sohail, who is playing league hockey in the Netherlands, told Daily Times that the match was a great success and every one wanted to contribute to the relief fund. “The presence of Prince William Alexander of Netherlands and the Mayor of Rotterdam at the benefit match also helped in motivating the Dutch people to donate generously,” he added.
World record holder Sohail inspired the Clubs Federation of Netherlands to organise the fund-raising match. “The hockey sticks with which world top players played in the match will be auctioned to raise funds.” The mercurial forward said that he was expecting 25 million euros to be raised for the quake victims and this amount would soon be send to Pakistan through Red Cross.
