Social Secretary Role

I have nominated myself for the Social Secretary role at computer science society. This is what i have written so far.

Since I have been a member of MATURE STUDENT SOCIETY over a year , this has helped me to know the purpose of having societies at University. Attending social events was normal ,we had Christmas dinner party, Easter lunch ,two trips and usual lunches through out the year. I improved my communication skills by joining this society as I met different kind of people from different countries.

So far being a student representative at my course, I have encouraged other people to join the society at my course. Regarding tech talks , it won’t be difficult as I had a chance to speak to the staff member of IBM,Microsoft, Graffica, BT,Land Rover,Delcam, and Accenture on placement fair.

And if I get this role , I 'll add an extra attraction for members that will be the ‘student’s day out’ a trip. I would also like to hear from anyone that would be willing to run, or help run a social event. I am enthusiastic and a good motivator so I think I am the suitable person for this role.

  1. Vice Chairperson - assist the Chairperson with general society activities. Speaking with external companies, assisting with organising events, hosting meetings, etc. **No time **

  2. Social Secretary - organizing/promoting social and technical events. Pub socials/movie events/tech talks/programming events/gaming events.
    **Flexible as I am already a student rep , this role 'll be fine.

  3. System Admin Support - support the system admin role! - This is targeted at 1st and 2nd year students who will be around next year, so you can keep our servers/machines in touch after our current SA leaves. **No time **

  4. Competitive Gaming Coordinator (subject to name change) - We’ve been approached by a group of “Gaming Society Presidents” who ask for a representative to organize competitive gaming events against other universities (and in-house too, please). This is already underway so we’ll help you out when you’re elected. **No time **
