Social Research...

Its a field im interested in checking out…im g=doing a module in social investigation and i seem to be one of the rare sociologists that actually enjoys this aspect…
Wondered if anyone in Gupshup does this for a living or has any knowledge of the field…in particulardue to the nature of the field im assuming i could get NGO work with say a masters…
Any knowledge of this area would be much appreciated…

I think you're trying to refer to Social Work research - right?... Social Research is a broader term that includes Social Sciences including psychology and behavioral, education, poli sci and to a certain extent organizational research as well.

If it is Social Work that you're looking at, then yes, a Masters degree is certainly helps - esp. since most programs offer a practicum/field placement component. I've know a couple of people pursue field placements in areas in Child Welfare, New Immigrants, etc.
In terms of research, there are opportunities in areas like systemic oppression, identity/diversity, community integration etc.
