The invention of Steam Engines brought an era of industrial revolution which is still continuing. But today, steam engines (Coal based machines) are considered polluting machines and are being phased out.
Similarly religion too brought a great benefit to the mankind and made a huge social revolution in the human culture. Mankind is yet to discover anything which can motivate people as powerfully as a religion. Religion is the most powerful way to motivate a human being. When this power (religion) is harnessed in a proper way then it can bring immense benefit to our society, but if it is handled in a wrong way then it causes social pollution of grand magnitude.
The distruction of Babri Mosque in India by Hindu religious fanatics, the damage to the great Buddha statue in Afghanistan by Talebanese and crumbling of the middle east peace process because of the visit of Sharon and his jewish fantic bandwagon to a religious place, is a grim reminder of this social pollution.
It is hightime common man become aware of this social pollution caused by hindu, muslim and jewish religious fanatics which is impacting our lives. We should never allow religious fundamentalist to rule us and cause social pollution.
we have not yet find ways to get rid of physical pollution, i doubt we'll get rid of this so called "social pollution" soon....most humans are ignorant and have no time to think about it because they strive for a living...
i think religion shudnt b held for ne kinda social pollution …wht ever religion u study abt does not permitts for socail destruction…its all abt individual interets that compells a person to maneuver or manipulate religion to accomplish their goals…a common man shud become aware of the real reason behind this social pollution and dats wht i stated ealier.
