Have you seen the movie, “World according to Garp”? If so, do a little commentary. I feel like laughing on your little wierd analyses.

:shag:
Sobz, keep your nasty little dirty hands off me. This is all platonic, ok? ![]()
Whatever. I guess i'll see just how 'platonic' this is when i watch the movie, right? I trust it aint X rated cuz the girl who works at the video store is mucho nice looking and i dont want her 2 think I'm a perv of some sort.
Sobz, you idiot, the movie is based on John Irving’s novel who also wrote Cider House Rules. You’re such a dimwit. Here is the link for you, you moron:
http://us.imdb.com/Title?0084917
God! It’s so friggin’ hard to educate ignorants like you.
I do have a search facility on my computer you know ![]()
I’ll check it out within the next few days. Inshallah.
Love,
uneducated ignorant idiot.
Sobz, I never doubted the facilities of your computer… I only doubted your abilities to use them. ![]()
And I never doubted you full stop. Now shut up.
Com 'on Sobz, of all the hundred thousands people that I could think of and market this movie to, I thought of you and recommended to you and this is what I get???? A simple shut up???? What happened to good 'ol f'k off????
I feel thwarted.
fook off
Now I feel fulfilled. And complete. And satiated. May be I should make more recommendations.
tell me ur other fave films and I'll fulfil you further.
Sobz, I can't. I told you so on chat as well. You gotta appreciate spontaneity or you're not worth recommending to.
Forgive me Roman, for I have sinned.
I went into town to get the movie today but ended up going to the pictures instead. Have u seen Irreversible? U have so got to watch it.
I'll try getting 'World according to Garp' this weekend. If I can be arsed.
Sweets, I have not as I don’t pretend to be ultra intellectual into foreign movies and come here and brag about them ![]()
Most American films bug me - I think it’s the accent. I really do recommend you watch Irreversible. The ten minute rape scene is gut wrenchingly horrific, but there’s just something about the film - something that draws you to the characters. It’s one of those films that I doubt I’ll ever forget. One of the hardest hitting piece of cinema I’ve ever seen. If you like films that test the boundaries, go watch it. But something tells me you’d prefer Two Weeks Notice or 8 Mile ![]()
Sobz, I don't like to watch rape movies. Bounderies unravelled is my thing but depends on the subject matter.
I feel the same way 'bout British movies. Can't understand the accents and slangs.
PS-
I'd swim 8 miles for ya in English channel to come see ya if you give me 2 weeks' notice.
Good. I’d be seriously concerned if you ‘liked’ watching the rape scene
the film is more about revenge then it is about the rape.
It’s not about understanding the accent/slang - the best movies are the ones you can watch in silent mode, and yet understand exactly what messages/feelings the actor is trying to convey. That’s the sign of a masterpiece. Anyway, American scriptwriters write out their arses.
There’s a British film out at the moment called ‘Spider’. Not sure if it’ll ever be shown stateside as it’s a majorly small arthouse project. Neway the story is based around a guy who’s just been released from a mental asylum. The guy hardly mutters two words throughout the whole film, yet the film is way more gripping then ur typical Hollywood blockbuster. Words ruin films.
I’ll give you a three-week notice if you tell me your favourite films.
Good things come to those who wait. After 2 weeks of trying to locate the film (at no less then 6 different video stores and 2 public libraries) I'd all but given up on ever watching the film. And that was two months ago.
But today we have lift off. I was just flicking thru the telly guide and I see that this Garpy film is coming on over the weekend. The lovely people at Channel 5 have decided to show at some ungodly hour of Sunday morning (12.45 am if I remember correctly). It follows a soft-core porn movie, which should be interesting.
So dear Brits, lets give the film a go cuz let's face it, we've got nothing better to do on Saturday nights.
