Re: So you think you can plant? Share your efforts
I'm currently working on starting an herb garden in my backyard. I have a landscaper making some raised wooden beds for me, and we're planning on planting rosemary, cilantro, oregano and thyme. I already have mint and karri patta.

you can share one your 3000 selfies that you must have taken leaning on a palm tree :)
Or 1500 selfies of sharing a duck face with a camel

Re: So you think you can plant? Share your efforts
This is what we actively tend to. The plant beds at the front and side of the house are maintained by the landscapers; Roses are in bloom; will post a pic later.
Mint. Lots of it, grows wild. Listen to Southie and pot it. Over the summer, we harvest all the mint several times, and give it away at the masjid. Arab mussalees love it.
Grape; Not as healthy as it used to be. This year doing better so far.
Plum. Lot of fruit at the moment, but as soon as it starts to ripe and turn red, birds will start feeding on them. These should be ready to eat in 4-6 weeks.
Pear. Hoping for a good year this time. Lost to pests the last couple of years.
Peach. Loads of them. Will be ready end of summer.
Veggie bed. Nothing this year. Maybe next year. Previous years we grew tomatoes, jalapenos, eggplants, bhindi and peppers.

No gardening at all since lasts 2 years but before that we had some basics (green chills, mint, tomatoes and strawberries) in our backyard.
Re: So you think you can plant? Share your efforts
Sweet.. why we get roses so late :hmmm:
Re: So you think you can plant? Share your efforts
Because they are late bloomers.
chai (and biskut) - I miss thee.
Re: So you think you can plant? Share your efforts
Not sure. Even these, this year are late. Last year end of April we already had the spring round. My theory with plants, grass and trees is, they wait till we hit a certain temperature and things start rolling. If you hit that temperature early you get them early.
Could also depend on

Re: So you think you can plant? Share your efforts
This is my dukhti-rugg right here. I want to literally grow a farm in here, My husband is highly against planting of any sort since we had 1 mouse (teeny-tiny one, pregnant that is) in our garage 5 years ago in WINTER that is. He’s paranoid something will return…Yah bunnies sweetheart ![]()
I tell him he’s a shame to our ‘Arryaain’ community ![]()
ps: 3 weeks ago I did have someone do our front yard with minor landscaping and seed up the grass again…That’s all the planting done around here ![]()
Re: So you think you can plant? Share your efforts
Mint grows quickly and very verociously. It will quickly take over an entire bed lol...it's best to plant mint in a seperate pot/planter
Re: So you think you can plant? Share your efforts
