So, would you do it again?

Re: So, would you do it again?

no regrets.
2 c-sections with fast recuperation each time and two healthy kids 3.5yrs apart. Alhamdulillah.

Re: So, would you do it again?

I wonder how many on here had intervention free first births?

Re: So, would you do it again?

No, his position was perfect. The issue was...I had a massive fibroid on the outer wall of my uterus. She had to make a vertical incision in order to get more room for baby. It was like a second baby.

Re: So, would you do it again?

My only regret is to not listen to my wife before our first baby when she used to ask me to go through material related to parenting (specially related to newborn) so I found myself stretching myself and most likely over stressing my wife when the time came.

For example Begum stetted up baby’s room with every single item readily available but on the day I did not know where to look for any specific thing. Like if she asked me to bring some sspecific cloths or some specific receiving blanket to hospital I almost ended up turning whole room upside down to find out cloths.

and since I did not go though the parenting classes/magazines/material, I did not know what to expect from babies, new mothers (oh they can get cranky and you cant blame them for that), how to change diaper, how to give bath to baby etc. My mom did fly in for a week and helped me around but she was only able to take 1 week vacation from her job and my MIL was not in best of her health to travel. So once my mom left, we were on our own and as a young couple with no relatives around to guide us (and we were new in the area so no EXPERIENCED family friends at that point)

Anyway, I did work hard and learned all the traits but I admit that I made it a bit harder for ourselves than it was needed.

Advise for father to be, listen to your wives, they know this better than you. Take those parenting classes at hospital (just couple of hours) and know what to expect from babies at what time.

you girls can carry on your discussion after this confession from a father!

cheers!

Re: So, would you do it again?

Thank you for the insight! Its always good to hear from the dads!!!

Re: So, would you do it again?

aaah.... those days, did you ever heard a screaming lady with her belly poopin out and that too in front of lovely people .... in italiano !
well it was my mistake to not read all the literature and forwarded emails in long 9 months well 8 and half actually, as we were shifted back to Pakistan so no pre-birth classes were available or maybe we didn't find one .. at the end of second trimester we were in NY for vacation and she kept insisting to took classes but i was in vacation mode.. it happens to best of us !

i did say sorry and she said i will never forgive you .. but then when she was unconscious calling my name and i was standing next to her having her hand in my hand silently. i knew she forgive !

boom !

Re: So, would you do it again?

I did. My eldest was born completely natural, total labor including pushing was under 4 hours, from start to finish. No epidural, no air/gas, no meds of any kind. No tearing or episiomity either. I think the easy delivery, coupled with the fact that he was such an easy baby, breastfeeding came very easy too, definitely propelled us towards the second pregnancy right away! Now the pregnancy and delivery of the twins...the less said about that the better lol, had every complication known to man.

Any regrets? Not a one. Would I do it all over again? In a heartbeat.

Re: So, would you do it again?

My first was hard. Second was harder. That makes it difficult to do it again.

Re: So, would you do it again?

Nothing. Alahmdulilah for all the blessings

1 emergency c-section. 2 elective C's from that point on. Pain or no pain....I want to re-live it over and over.

Re: So, would you do it again?

Same here...those initial moments were and will always be priceless.

Re: So, would you do it again?

 Holy wow!!! I thought that wasn’t possible with natural delivery. Lucky you.

Re: So, would you do it again?

It’s very much possible!!! Don’t let all the horror stories scare you lol

Re: So, would you do it again?

As a mother of four (alhamdulillah) I've no regrets at all. I'm blessed I believe. I had only one emergency c-section when my daughter was born premature...for the rest of three it was all natural alhamdulillah and for the youngest, it was no tearing at all. Alhamdulillah

Re: So, would you do it again?

3 natural born with the third one 4000 g and not a single tear! its possible
