Credit ofcourse to the awesome sauce that Mr. Monk is.
So according to a studies show on ABC that went on air saying. Women in their 20’s are more happier than men of the same age. However as women age, their happiness level goes on the decline while men tend to become more and more happier. So by the time men are in their forties, its like they’ve switched positions on the happiness scale.
This actually goes hand in hand with what I have learned (in regards to the psychological benefits of marriage for emotional wellbeing). Women in their 20s would be happier than men around the same age and that could be associated with the fact that they are more likely to have good social support and friends to share their issues/troubles with. Whereas men of the same age do have friends, but it's not a social norm for them to speak to such friends about their concerns/emotional issues and etc. The way that guys interact is more about watching sports, hanging out, and etc., but women love to talk.
However, as we age, it's more likely that we'll get married. And marriage has psychological benefits far great for men than for women. Men are happier and better off mentally after they get married. The reason for this is because they find a life-partner to share their feelings with, and this emotional need wasn't really being met before. But for the wives/women, their psychological wellbeing may decline because they find the tasks of being a wife/mother to take away from the social connections they always had in their lives, and men/husbands are not able to meet their emotional needs the same way that their lady friends did.
