I will be taking off on eid as welll..I have already let everyone at work know that it could be either day. So I could take off wed or thursday or both.
I used to take a day off on Eid back in Austria. Here in Dubai that's not necessary anymore, since Eid is a public holiday. This time we'll spend Eid in KHI, Inshallah.

Hm.... when did you start your ramzan? If you started it on sep 1st the eid should be sep 30th or oct 1st, if you started on sep 2nd then eid should be oct 1st or oct 2nd... It cannot be oct 3rd...

21 days????? I wish. We (private company employees) get 2 days, those who work for governmental organizations get 6 days.

yeah I’ll be taking it off, our dept has so much brown sugar, kay sara khali hoga eid walay din… 
unfortunately, on one takes any days off if it is a week day.

which leaves me home alone for the day.
I shall make some eid goodies for the evening and maybe have my friends over for dindin over the weekend. EID MUBARICK weasel family style.

I have all 3 days off for eid anyways 
Although I do need to come in tuesday for a meeting and wednesday for training

Some people make an assumption that they cannot tell their employers that Eid is based on citation of moon . They think if they tell that to employer that they will take a day off based on citation of moon , the employer will not agree. It is not true. My experience shows that employers in USA give due importance to any and all religions. I never faced any problem taking day off on Eid day based on which day the moon citation will occur. I tell them upfront what it is about and how it works and they are happy to oblige.

I've told my boss that I'll be off either Tuesday - Friday or Wednesday - Friday. If I am off on T - F, I'll send an e-mail on Monday night. However, if I am off on W - F, then no e-mail will be sent as I'll be working on Tuesday.
