Re: So which channel will show the first kiss between two Pakistani characters?
Those two, in the above clip, were married at the time. Currently they're divorced, and she's not on speaking terms with him, nor does she comment on their divorce. He's remarried to another model.
Regardless, when that clip was made, they were married. I would refrain from using a married couple to typecast what goes on in Pakistani dramas these days, as there is some bias there.
I don't see many steamy scenes in dramas these days, and I guess your standards are a bit too high. If that's so, then don't watch. Fact is, these dramas get viewership, that's why they're being made. So maybe for the 11 or so posts here that disapprove, there is a whole fleet of people who do watch this stuff. And if everyone is going to click on these clips to see what the big deal is about - people funding this stuff see, and they go based upon numbers. By clicking and watching, you're just adding to producers' convictions that these dramas are a hit and should be funded.
Furthermore, if you remember, it was pretty much most of Pakistan that was gung-ho crazy over bold Indian dramas, back before Pakistani private channels came out and when dramas were still conservative. People PREFERRED watching bold Indian dramas with short outfits, and kissing and MUCH MORE over a beautifully executed dialogue by Talat Hussain. Ratings for PTV dramas DROPPED back in the STAR TV, ZEE TV madness era some years back. Which is why private channels in Pakistan flourished, because they were able to provide competetive type of dramas. Hence now, our dramas seem so Indianized, if that's even such a thing.
But keep in mind, this trend has taken place because of Pakistani viewership trends. If we were very much into our conservative culture as we say we really are and should be - if we practiced what we preached, then we wouldn't have these dramas. Period. I don't see what's the use of complaining about it now. Go talk to all the friggin' folks who watch this stuff.
