So what's "IN" in pakistan?

So I am going to Pakistan after 4 months and attending about 3 weddings in a span of 2 weeks and all of them are of close family members. I wanted to get my clothes made in advance and absolutely love the long shirts/ dress concept that has been the trend for the past couple of years. However, I am not sure if that’s still the trend back in pakiland. I don’t want to get all these expensive dresses made and then look stupid for wearing something that’s not “in” anymore. So I wanted to know what’s the trend these days in Pakistan? or what it is heading towards? I won’t really have time to do the readymade clothes shopping there.. even though thats the easiest way to go.

Re: So what's "IN" in pakistan?

The churidar salwar with long Kameez is in fashion. Before it was mostly the trouser style bottoms now its tighter churidar type with very long and loose dress type Kameez. Think Arab style kaftans. I absolutely love Pakistani fashion!

Re: So what's "IN" in pakistan?

Readymade clothes are best, there are so many options. Khaadi, Generation, Chinyre, Cynosure, Daaman, Maria. B, Lakhani Mills, G-Pret, Gul Ahmed, Sheep, Junaid Jamshaid, FnK Asia, Labels etc.

It's tights with long shirts, different types of cuts.. no dupatta's.

Re: So what's "IN" in pakistan?

^the no dubatta fashion is really becoming prominent, my friend got some clothes from Pakistan yesterday and a few of them had no dubatta at all, is this slowly becoming a norm now? or just a trend??

Are dresses/frocks still in fashion? I really love wearing these...

Re: So what's "IN" in pakistan?

I don't know whether it's just a passing trend or not but I think it's here to stay. For casuals it's long linen/cotton/khaadi/silk kameez'es and tights or churidaar tights in different colors. The dresses and 'frock' type of shirts are mostly formal-wear.

Most of the ready-made outlets have 2-piece outfits only..

I'm loving the silk, cotton, chiron, lawn shirts with coloured tights trend :D Unfortunately I don't wear them here :(

Re: So what's "IN" in pakistan?

chalo no duppatta is better then na hone ke barabar wala duppatta ( that used to (?) come with ready made stuff)

Re: So what's "IN" in pakistan?

really interested to hear the responses here...wanna buy some salwar kameez to wear at home so i dont feel a slob all the time ;)
Love churidar style-i never understood the wide/long kameez with wide trousers trend-faaaaaarrrr too much fabric to be practical daywear!!

Re: So what's "IN" in pakistan?

Choridars are not going to go away quickly because a lot of people have a lot of dresses with with choridars however, the new trend is going to be trousers and shararas. Same is the case with shirt length, everyone has so many longer shirts that they are going to keep wearing but all the major brands are trying to bring the short shirts back. Bottom line, whatever you'll get won't look out of fashion.

Re: So what's "IN" in pakistan?

i want to add somethng in all this conversation
yes long shirts are stll in fashion
new thing in fashion is of round ghair, collars , differnt length of shirt from front and back i.e short from front long from back

Re: So what's "IN" in pakistan?

^This new fashion sounds weird to me, I saw someone that recently got a shirt designed like this but I was not impressed.

Re: So what's "IN" in pakistan?

I have several styles which are short in the front and long in the back and I love them :)

Re: So what's "IN" in pakistan?

I'm sure it will grow on me, I'll probably end up wearing it too, but initially I did not like the look of it. also I dislike collars.

Re: So what's "IN" in pakistan?

what Gina said, long shirts and tights.....

for formals wear different styles which suits you too....
