So what is the future for Mr Genital Warts?

So given that this team seems complete for limited-overs cricket, and that Shoaib is too injury-prone for Test matches, is there any role at all for him to play in Pakistan cricket?

With the return of Mohammad Yousuf and hopefully in due time of Asif and Imran Nazir and possibly Rana Naveed, I think the Pakistani team not only has all the 11 spots covered but has plenty of back-up as well.

I think after the WC success Shoaib Akhtar’s days should really have been counted now…

Re: So what is the future for Mr Genital Warts?

I hoped for it like 10 years ago, but then our ever persistent and awkward PCB's reluctance to have him in the team despite several slashers from both ends. Seems like our cricket is run by a municipality dept... or worse.
Personally i don't want to see Asif in the team as well... despite the fact that he's a class, but being a moron he's a super duper class. The team plus the ICL reverts, i guess that's more than adequate to thrash all attacks world wide. We just need one class bowler for tests... Which can be easy if Sohail anveer get's his rhuythm back in form. Then we have Umar Gul, Amir, sohail Tanvir... shahid afridi, Danish, saeed ajmal... and then abdul razzaq. Variety man :)

Re: So what is the future for Mr Genital Warts?

^ Shoaib Akhter has best strike rate in ODI and 2nd best in Test. I agree with the original poster he should leave the cricket now but ten years ago I don't think so. I am not a big fan of Shoaib either but truth is truth he was our best bowler after 2Ws.

Re: So what is the future for Mr Genital Warts?

clinics,,,hospitals and Pharmacies.....!!!!!!!!

Re: So what is the future for Mr Genital Warts?

rana naveed aka buzurg? i thought he was done for?

Please no Rana Naveed again. He can be too wayward and expensive

Imran Nazir though deserves another chance in T20 and 50-over games

Re: So what is the future for Mr Genital Warts?

Keep Shoaib Actor away from the team.. far FAR away :snooty:

Re: So what is the future for Mr Genital Warts?

Only Gul, Tanvir, Aamir, Asif and Razzaq consistant performances can end Akhtar's career, but looking at the bunch only Gul is the bowler that can take wickets in all formats of the game. Tanvir seems to be struggling while Aamir is very young. Razzaq, even though an intelligent bowler needs pace and support to be a reliable sparehead for Pakistan.

As for Asif, lets see his return and whether he has learned from his mistakes.

So, in the end all Mr. Genital Warts needs to do is get fit come back for Champions Trophy and Aussie tour and that's it. His career is up and running.

no place for Akhtar regardless of the recent success. In my personal opinion he started to become a liability couple of years ago. During the last 3-4 years nothing has come out of him except statements in the media.

I firmly believe he was a match winner even when a lot of Pakistanis fans started to disike him. Why things didn’t go his way.. this is a seperatae issue which we have discussed several times and thus no point of talking about it again. We should close his chapter and move on.

As far as Asif goes, I think he should be given one more chance. Not because his deserve one but if we can give Akhtar million chances then why cant Asif get one.

Golden Asif, surprised to hear your view about Rana. Eventhough it has been a while Rana has played for Pakistan but I have no doubts about his ability specially in the ODI’s. Guess you forgot this article.

fkhan2 I know Rana has bowled well on a few occasions esp. the one day series in India in 2005/6 but he can be very wayward with his line and length at times and be very expensive and that is my concern. But perhaps no harm in trying him again in ODIs

Re: So what is the future for Mr Genital Warts?

^ most recently, his performance in the ICL has been phenomenal (bowling as well as batting)... and just based on the fact that he's been good for Pakistan when he was most needed (being the only pace bowler in the absence of Akhtar and Gul before Asif was introduced), I'm willing to give him another try at the ODI level.

Re: So what is the future for Mr Genital Warts?

**We have yet to find a bowler .... who can win test matches for us .......
Umer gul is there.... but there is no one to support him

whether u like it or not .......... we need Shoaib Akhter .......
**

We don’t like it, I’d rather go for cloning Umar Gul :snooty:

so you want intermittent and unreliable support?

Re: So what is the future for Mr Genital Warts?

shoaib akhter should stay out
he's a bad influence on the team
he's so dumb aswell

Re: So what is the future for Mr Genital Warts?

Exactly esix.. the team are well better off without Mr GT’s nakhre and whatnot. I think he should seriously just go to bollywood forever and not look back :cb:

His ten over per match in between faked injuries is hardly any help. No thank you.

in order for him to win test matches for us I think it is very important for him to play a full test match (i.e. be on the field whenever he is needed to bowl). When was the last time that miracle happened?

Re: So what is the future for Mr Genital Warts?

No more Actor please

If Charsee (AKA ASif) is back we will have pretty good lineup for any format

Asif, Gul, Aamir -- (Fast)
Razzaq -- (Medium)
Afridi, Danish, Saeed Ajmal -- (spin)
Shoaib Malik - (Part timer)

Beside that Shoaib is not fit for test match anyway.

Re: So what is the future for Mr Genital Warts?

In view of the family friendly flavor of the forums, shouldnt we call it "HPV" instead of the graphic "genital warts" ?

Whatever the later troubles in his career (most of which may be reactionary to the board) he won us lots of games guys. If he does never play again for Pakistan, would we forget all his great performances and remember him for this ?
