So what do you think of Robin Hood?

Was he a bad person, a thief and nothing more than that? Or was he a good person because he stole from the rich only to help the poor? If the end is noble but the means of attaining it isn’t, is it morally acceptable?

Re: So what do you think of Robin Hood?

I tell you when I fish “arabian nights”

Re: So what do you think of Robin Hood?

lol…he was definitely better than our today’s corrupt political leaders.

Re: So what do you think of Robin Hood?

Why this character is given importance anyway?

“Robbinghood”, “Robbingness” (Robbing people rich or poor) is not a good act.

**

Being rich is not a crime but robbing is and always been.**

Re: So what do you think of Robin Hood?

I think it’s justifiable. Most people in the world are guilty of some kind of crime anyway. Have you ever downloaded a song or movie? Streamed something online? That’s technically stealing. Most of us justify it by reasoning that we wouldn’t have bought it anyways, and that we’re stealing from big corporations, i.e. the rich, so it’s not a big deal.

Re: So what do you think of Robin Hood?

Dont support robbin’ the hood. But do support robbin’ the 1% and giving it back to the hood.

Re: So what do you think of Robin Hood?

if the lootees got rich by exploiting the poor. i don’t see a problem with it, since there is injustice towards the poor.

Re: So what do you think of Robin Hood?

Frankly always digged the men in tights

Re: So what do you think of Robin Hood?

Robin Hood is my hero since childhood. I used to skip all cartoons but never this one.

Re: So what do you think of Robin Hood?

Yeah! All rich are looters.

Re: So what do you think of Robin Hood?

i think what he was trying to acheive was good but i dont think i agree with his methods…still may be thats the only way he could go about it

Re: So what do you think of Robin Hood?

We cannot change the fact that he was stealing which is a bad act, but we also cannot consider him bad since he was helping poor. His action was wrong but with good heart. It can go both ways because if he was a gentleman than he should have fought for poor rights in a right manner. There are always good and bad ways of doing things right and wrong, I think I believe in Iqbal’s sher “aye tair laa hoti hai , is rizq se maut achi jis rizq se aati ho kotahi” meaning you can be a generous guy and donate but stealing from others, I don’t find it right. What amount of wealth is in your fate you will get it anyway so why choose bad method.

Re: So what do you think of Robin Hood?

i always wanted to be robin hood , i liked him that much,

he used wits in a more cleverer or fashionable way the others

Re: So what do you think of Robin Hood?

I’m still upset that Ridley Scott butchered the recent movie. The original story was called Nottingham, and the protagonist was supposed to be the sheriff, while Robin Hood was to be portrayed as a violent thug. Interesting concept.

They probably would have thrown in something about how a criminal like that could become a folk hero. Then Russell Crowe and Ridley Scott “nope’d” the crap out of that…

Re: So what do you think of Robin Hood?

Do ends ever justify the means?

That, and the fact that he got to have Maid Marian. I’d say that was pretty righteous.

I used to do that too, more following the brilliant move of his to use stilts to get into the archery competition.

Sorta gave up the day he moved from using armor to tights.
