orpheous my mom actually used desi masala..i think it was chargah/bbq ke masala..and then the normal stuffing

All you ladies are putting me to shame. I cooked nothing on Thanskgiving.
I was too busy CVS hopping, getting all the freebies. I have multiples CVS cards ( for every member of the family including the pets!)and had to get all the fab deals. (In my defence I have to say that everything I bought went in a big box marked "Gifts for Pakistan")
I guess even aften living in the U.S for the last 10 years I still haven't wamed up enough to the holiday to make a special effort to celebrate
it in a tradiotanl way..turkey and all the fixings. I belive it will change once the kids grow up and demand that we celebrate the tureky day like rest of their class mates. Till then, bring on the deals!

wow ladies, hats off, your menus are quite motuh watering. I have no pictures but made desi sort food. the only non-desi foods were the pumpkin pie for dessert which was not home made and this eggplant and minced beef baked dish, forgot the name.

orpheus ,it took like an hr for turkey, mai khud heyran hoon kai itnee jaldee kaisey ban gee,,and for other stuff ,,altogehter 3-4 hrs,,that was quick na:)

married, funny but this wknd i went to a dawat where they made gosht with this nawab masala, and it was sooooooo delicious! i must pick it up sometime from patel’s..

Unfortunately lard is not that color and it is not a tub… Lard is of your desi ghee color.

And I am a student; I don’t have all sophisticated pans and stuff so I know the shape kind of looks strange. Oh and I said my oven wasn’t working too so it was pretty difficult to get the crust on top of a stove. But when you cut that loaf kind of thing into slices, it looked just fine and was delicious :yummy: lol

Now you are too quick to criticize me but maybe you should share something you have ever made. :hoonh:
