So, the big question is...

Why is gupshup going down every single day for 20, 30, even sometimes more than 60 minutes? :hoonh:

It happens around midnight EST or around 10AM EST… :naraz: more often now since the site moved to its new “server cluster.:omg: How many servers are in this “cluster?”

Re: So, the big question is...

we have been under heavy ddos attacks lately. popularity comes at a cost. the last server cluster was fairly OK but it was a knee jerk reaction to move to the new one. we thougth the load was normal progression. it wasnt. some restless souls find it comforting hitting us from all corners of the globe.
the current cluster has a front (http) and two back (sql) load balanced servers.
working with the ISP to find a better solution. :-(

^
can u please, also look into the issue I emailed you about?

Re: So, the big question is…

What kind of webhost/ISP is it? No DDos litigation/prevention?

It has become a game for these certain people…

Maybe you should look into moving the site from houston, TX to Dallas, TX? The Planet is a good host* (at least it use to be until it bought ev1servers)*.

Re: So, the big question is…

OMGGGGGGG, my LIFE stops wen gs is down:(

im not the only noe who sits here trying to get it work for tleast 30 minz and thn fnially iving up :chai:

Re: So, the big question is...

Azkar I also think u need to bring ads back on this site to help with some of the costs of the infrastructure that you have to bear. If people can not live with an ad here and there for something they dont like then they are free to go somewhere else.

Re: So, the big question is...

it may be more than just popularity. chaudhry saab kidday naal panga le behto o keh inna ddos ho raya ve server?

Re: So, the big question is...

I've noticed that these (presumably) DDOS attacks are occuring at SPECIFIC times during the 24 hour period...
I hope this ends soon...
