I’m a little unclear on the concept. My mother (who is 81 and is more tech savvy than I am!) tells me I need to take an SD card with me or install it or something to save photos on when we’re traveling. Also, I want to save the data from my little cash app on the old phone and transfer the info to the same app on the new phone.
Are SD cards put inside the phone itself? Do they plug in with a dongle or reader or something? Do they work like thumbdrives? Could I use a thumb drive instead? I mean, I know what they look like (like a SIM card) but I don’t know how you use/connect/install them.
it is memory card usually uses in camera and cell phones. to read data from SD card, you will need a sd card reader that will transfer data to your computer.
all modern computer provide SD card reader slots, but just in case if you dont have one you can use usb sd card reader for data transfer.
You can save to SD card and then to your computer..then probably another backup online, just in case.
Have a backup of your backup, otherwise when things go wrong you'll be kicking yourself for not saving the picture of you in ridiculous shorts in Mexico! :)
Most phones these days take MicroSD cards so i would go with that but they come with adaptors so just insert it into the adaptor and it looks like a Full SD card ( The blue one in TB's post)
^ unless you want to access your stuff, off line. Like if family is air traveling, then you can download many movies on a sd card and kids can watch them while flying. You cant do that if they are in dropbox.
^^ Hopefully they don’t want to watch a movie on a tiny phone screen. For that, Aurchaepiyo, may I be the first to recommend the Nexus 7 Tablet . Thank you very much.

Hmmn. That is a good point. Oh,well...they'll just have to READ A BOOK. (What a concept, I know!):p
