2002 World Cup has had so upsets. But most of the results I think were just. The underdogs did eventually play better than their opponents. Credit is due to them!
I just watched the match between Croatia and Italy and Croatia ditched Italy 2-1 ! Suprizingly all the favourites are’nt finding it easy even to qualify for the second round. Italy did play well but for me Croatia did deserve a victory. Coming in a match agaisnt the favourites and first going one down and then going up after equalizing requires immense skill and temprament.
But one thing that bites is that if all the favourites are not gona qualify even if its a it immature to say , the world cup would lose its charm. :-p

But don’t you think Italy is at a much much more higer level than most countries are as far as football os concerned? Hardly anyone would think of Croatia as a favorite for winning this worldcup.

I wouldn't call Croatia beating Italy a upset, Italy doesn't have lineup like 94 wc and Croatia is a solid team, there performance against Mexico doesn't prove much, they are one of my top 5 favirtoes to win the wc this year.

As far as I am concerned the decisions were absolutely correct in the Italy v Croatia match. No doubts there.

You really need to wake up! Then you'd see that most of the decisions made by Mr. Poll in the Italy v Croation match had a very shady touch. And at least two of them were definitely wrong!

Well one need to understand the rules of soccer to decide if that was really correct or not.So I will advice you to refer to some books.
