so it got me thinking

How much does it take for parents to throw out their kids? justtttttt wonderings

how much would it take ur parents to do that to u?

Re: so it got me thinking

I don't think my parents would ever throw me out, even if I got pregnant or married a crazy devil worshipper.

Re: so it got me thinking

Parents dont through their kids out but some kids do.

Re: so it got me thinking

Probably a pregnancy.. Actually mum would want to but dad wouldn't (we've often talked about desi girls who ended up pregnant before marriage, he's a doctor so that sort of stuff isn't so shocking to him)

Re: so it got me thinking

Depends upon a number of factors. The priorities in one's life, the level of sensitivity towards different matters, the self respect, values...etc.

For example. There are some parents out there who if wake up in the morning to see that all their wealth, cars, jeweleries...etc. have been given away by their child as a 'sadaqa' to poor and needy people, they would throw him/her out of the house. But they wouldn't mind if their child does the most be-sharamest of things in life.

Re: so it got me thinking

Course they don't..

Re: so it got me thinking

Abdullah bin Umar (r.a) was once stating a saying of the Prophet (saw), when his son responded "But we can't follow it because...." Abdullah (r.a) felt so much hurt that he never talked again to that son in his whole life (became naaraz with him). The intensity of love for the Prophet (Saw) was so much that he couldn't bear that his mature son should show any disrespect to a saying of the Prophet (saw).

Today, intense violation of the ways of the Prophet (saw) usually doesn't causes conflicts among relatives but money, one's share in the inherited land, houses....etc. does, (unfortunately in some cases)

Still, nothing should force anyone to throw out ones relative from one's house. Better to negotiate and remove differences by sacrificing one's rights and politely develop understanding, unless the other party isn't ready in any way to have even a bit of self-respect, family-respect, Allah-respect and Prophet-respect.

They may not but the respect might go down the hallway for a quick one way ride. :p
