Re: So is anything off limits?
I guess in my family dancing is a big no-no but for any other occasion i would NEVER be allowed to dance..but i danced at my valima :D honestly i think my wedding was the first "wedding wedding" in the family (excluding pak) and everything was run-of-the mill boring stuff that u guys (and me) complain about..but there's nothing much to do abt it.. oh well!
Re: So is anything off limits?
in my family there's a lot of dancing, some people wear clothes that are a bit revealing (sleeveless, capris, low necks) but not many. and the ones who do are not looked down upon. everyone dresses how they feel they look best. the food isn't just limited to pakistani. as a matter of fact, the american food given at the 3 weddings i've been to was realllly good (especially the dessert, there was a table full of it =D). a couple of weddings had alcohol (for the white people who were at the wedding) but you would see a few pakistani's sneaking some every now and then but usually there's no alcohol..and that's about it.
Re: So is anything off limits?
for ours,
no dancing, of course
no alcohol
no extravagant menu, enough to feed everyone!
no besharmi, obviously you must be at your best behavior in front of the family..that goes for guys and girls.
and no 'gandey manday' kaprey..LOL :)
if this is odd for anyone..then i guess our 'sharam haya' days are truly over!!!
Re: So is anything off limits?
For those of you saying that dancing is forbidden, is it for the wedding day only, or is it totally forbidden? Is there dancing at dholkis, mayoon, mehndis?
