intolerant backward hindu fundamentalists keep making the lives of muslims and christians a living hell

Re: so India is supposed to be a 'secular' country ?

It is Hindu extremism... it is getting public and even worse.. a leader of BJP is supporting it.. Imagine what these extremists will do when they get hold on Power in center.. and have their hands to the nuclear assets of India.. They are risk to the world's peace.. if they cannot tolerate a tiny minority in their country.. how come these extermists will tolerate a Muslim Country in its neighbour...

Re: so India is supposed to be a 'secular' country ?

India is only "secular" on paper.

Re: so India is supposed to be a 'secular' country ?

i think this has been discussed at length!

Re: so India is supposed to be a 'secular' country ?

Another propaganda and India-phobia.

These same so called Hindu extremists were in power for 5 years with one of the most respected leader Vajpayee leading them. Even nuclear weapons are their gift since it;s they who tested it!!

Hey, this "Hindu extremist" also visited Pakistan by bus to meet Nawaz Sharif so that the relation can improve and peace prevails...but once again as usual backstabed by a PA general, this time Musharraf who was busy creating Kargil while Vajpayee -- a "Hindu Extremist" PM and Nawaz were talking peace in Lahore!!

Do you see now, where pakistani army and so called Hindu extremists stand when it comes to making effort for peace!!

Re: so India is supposed to be a 'secular' country ?

^^^ who totally forgot to mention anything about these poor Christians who are currently suffering from the extremism of Hindu extremist party and unfortunately this party is accepted as National Party.. so we can say that Hindus are extremist at large... anyway. let see.. if BJP comes into power.. where the riots will start... any guess...which minority BJP might have in mind to slaugther

Re: so India is supposed to be a 'secular' country ?

First you brought BJP and I pointed to you that BJP was in power for 5 years and it was the **first **to make an attempt for peace by Vajpayee travelling all the way till Lahore to meet Nazwaz Sharif.
But your greatest and bravest martial Pak army general Musharraf stabbed in the back by creating Kargil. Even Nawaz has acknowledged this fact that after meeting Vajpayee the relations were normalizing but Musharraf spoiled everything.

What you have to say about this??...if they are such "extremists" then why they wanted "peace" with Pakistan??

Re: so India is supposed to be a 'secular' country ?

There u Go..... have u bothered to read whats there in the LINK...???? BJP is there.. go and read first and then reply..

Re: so India is supposed to be a ‘secular’ country ?

Secularism cannot come at the cost of democracy. India has 80% Hindus and so if all of them decided to vote for BJP, obviously their voice would be heard. Historically however Hindus have not voted on religious grounds and that is why BJP has ruled only one complete term in the 62 years since independence.

I dont see why when the religious majority asserts its sentiments in a democracy it is considered non-secular, but when poiltical parties pander to religious minorities in order to get their votes it is considered secular. :hmmm:

Re: so India is supposed to be a 'secular' country ?

Forget Muslims and Christians, even hindu Dalits were kicked out of the polling stations according to Lalu Prasad Yadav. He has filed a complaint already, i was watching it last night on India tv.

Re: so India is supposed to be a 'secular' country ?

^^^
And i thought you guys thought Indian media was bakwas??

about BJP being recognised as a National Party, well, it meets some criteria, some particular(sorry, cant remember the exactly) percentage of Lok Sabha and state legislative seats grant you the title of a National Party.

and i think the fact that the majority of the 80% Hindu population allowed BJP to rule only once in its entire democratic age speaks enough for it self.

PLUS, i thought mods regularly delete/close threads which have the same topic as a few others before it.

Re: so India is supposed to be a 'secular' country ?

Lalu is expecting to lose to the much stronger and cleaner BJP candidate, and thats why he is making these kind of allegations.

The TV channels did show a story about RJD (Lalu's party) goons forcing voters to vote for their candidates :p
