So I'm getting married in Pakistan....

To a lovely man there next year InshAllah. And as I’m the 1st girl to be getting married in the family, mum has no clue what to do, and neither do I! The only real help we have are a few of my aunts in Pakistan. I have no sisters and sort of feels like everybody is panicking around me.

So to get some help from any of you guys that are willing… I thought of a couple of simple questions that I am sort of clueless about.

  1. What do the brides side do for the groom side for the wedding?

  2. What sort of gifts are given to the groom side?

That’s all I can think of right now, I am sure I will have more soon, any help with those questions would be great, thank you!

Congrats aishi  every family is somehow different than others.. best is to ask anyone from in-laws your close to or just gift nicely warped clothes to your hubby’s mom dad bro and sis.. there are many gift packing services as well.. hope it helps!

during my wedding preparations i learned that start with ideas that keep things simple as less is always more.. and will turn out elegant as well :flowers:

Re: So I'm getting married in Pakistan....

gosh i can totally relate .. first to go from the family too :) .. but MA MA my parents are now so frank with my MIL and becase she is such a sweetheart .. if there is any confusion about any tradition or how things are carried out they consult her and ask how she would prefer stuff ..

u might have already seen the thread about what to give to the in laws .. so you can have ur pick and what ceyrun said is spot on! keep things simple and balanced! .. if u go over board one thing or the other is bound to go wrong unless u hire a wedding planner .. if u and ur family is doing stuff urself then have fun and enjoy this time .. cuz its fun!!

First and foremost, Congrats Aishi  :flower1:

As for your question, well i believe the custom varies from family to family but yah the overall idea is almost the same. Most give Gold if it can be afforded especially for the groom’s mother in our family we give “kare” and for the guys in the groom’s family its usually watches and cufflinks.
