Re: So how much do you think is too much to pay for getting your eyebrows done?
Some ppl are soooo good at threading. Doesn't hurt a bit and its a bit therapeutic. And others torture you. Lol

You shouldn't need stencils to maintain them once they have been done. You just need to take a minute or two every other day and pluck only the regrowth outside of this crafted shape. You should be able to maintain them for about 3 months like this.

^i can maybe try that "pluck the only regrowth outside of this crafted shape" after I get it done the high quality, professional way. It's seriously like finding a good rishta...kind of like that. When I was in high school and college i can think nightmare stories of doing it myself, I completely had no clue what i was doing. The desi women that are doing their own business out of their homes also seem to not really know with my eyebrows.
err..My eyebrows are special :)

I do the same , they stay for 2 months in good shape.
I usually get them done at this Assyrian/Arsb place by my house for $4...she does a lovely job threading them not too thin with a good arch and all. The one time there was a randomlady wprking there who did my brows and they were perfect...idk where she went. Never saw her again. Oh and i've gottwn then done for $20 @ Ulta as well...and they so an awesome job.
My problem with threading is that usually desis make them really thin and arched...looks horrible.and they just seem to give everyone the same shape. I like thick eyebrows with a nice and defined arch.

Re: So how much do you think is too much to pay for getting your eyebrows done?
When I pay $5-$7 at some places my eyebrows end up being uneven and differently shaped. At Ulta they charge $20 which seems crazy and too much but the way they did my eyebrows seemed like she was using the 20 mins to totally perfect my brows.
I read that doing your own eyebrows is a major beauty blunder.
I'll share my not-so-awesome story :
I was about 16 years old when I first got my eyebrows threaded by an aunty. It was a major FAIL. She over threaded, plucked a lot, I was left with a very very thin shape, and gaps in between my brows, she even told me to put black kajal pencil to fill in those gaps. I actually did what she said.
Everyone at home noticed my eyebrow and didn't say anything. My father drove me to my phopho's house, she had a lot of magazines on her table and calmly asked me to browse them and point a single woman with thin eyebrows. I did what she said and there were about 15 magazines, I only found natural shaped thick or slightly arched ones. I got my first lesson from here.
Then I once got them threaded professionally for 7€, the shape was okayish but I had an army of pimples of my forehead.
I went to a professional gori salon with my friend, she was before me, the beautician plucked very few hair and then took 17€, the shape was the same, she did nothing special and I walked away.
The only time I got them done again professionnally was at my brother's wedding, and that stupid woman over-threaded on purpose saying 'wedding are extravagant and your eyebrows are to be noticed, you're the groom's sister everyone needs to notice you', I was fuming, but yes, people did notice me and asking me countless times 'why are you angry ?'. Second lesson here.
Ever since I've been waxing them by myself, and my major beauty blunder was trusting these so called professional women to get my brows done. I get 20 wax strips for 8€, thus 40 eurocent per waxing, which I do once in a month or even once in 6 week. It's wayyy cheaper and I love the shape. I had posted a thread with pix here.
