So how do I unlock my other android?

Not jailbreak, but unlock. I want to give it to my friend. Should I just find somebody on craigslist to do it, or can I do it myself?

call you carrier. Tell them that you want to travel outside US and need your phone to support other sim cards.

^I didn’t know that, don’t know if you can get it here but I have been always paying to get my phone unlocked. :hmmm:

AT&T is officially unlocking iPhones even. TMo has always had a policy to unlock 1 phone every 90 days (while you have service from them). Sprint and Verizon phones don't count as you can't use those phone with any other carrier (except the Sprint resold services like Virgin Mobile etc.)

call your carrier and they will unlock device for you. Let them know, that you are traveling to another country ;)

An update on unlocking:

When I got my new S3 a couple months ago, I asked T Mobile about unlocking as I am planning to take my phone back home later this year and use it with a local sim there. So T Mobile sent me a code and unlocking procedures via e-mail and all I need is a non-T mo sim card to unlock and I'm all set. I still haven't done that but I happened to be talking to a customer rep at a T Mo store the other day and he confused the heck out of me saying that after unlocking, as soon as I put my T Mo sim card back in, it will be locked again so I'd have to repeat the unlocking procedure each time. That didn't sound right so I went to the store where I bought my phone from as the folks there seem to be much more together with the program! SO yeah, once u unlock, it does stay unlocked regardless of whether u put your original sim back in or not.

Just wanted to add this info in.

What is the make and model of the mobile?
You can unlock your phone using Unlock Codes. You can get unlock code from the network provider or Online vendors. Network providers will provide the unlock code only if the contract period is over .But, At anytime you can get unlock code from online vendors. There select your phone manufacturer & model and you have to give your Country and Current Network name along with your IMEI number to get Unlock code.They will give you unlock code along with instruction on how to unlock.Follow the instruction correctly and Unlock your Phone.
