On advice of friends and relatives after considering all aspects he decided to settle in [font=‘Times New Roman’]Karachi[font=‘Times New Roman’]. For preparation he recently addressed Secretary Education Sindh Karachi for getting some general information about children education. Reading the reply from the Secretary mentioning “The matter IS PERTAIN to”, my friend immediately gave a second thought to settle in NWFP rather than in Karachi though Peshawar is a bit backward. My friend contended that where writing standard of Secretary Education is so “high” he cannot afford to give education his children at that place. **

^^ so he has decided to take that wrong sentence that may be written by a PA or clerck of Secretary Education. its not standard of Secretary Education.
Education in Pakistan based on the institutes, your friend is quite shallow minded to base his important decision of life because of a letter.
I am impressed atleast he has got answer from secretary.

really? which schools in Pakistan have higher standards than which schools abroad? (though it sounds like a challenge, please don't read it as one - I just want to know. If India can create IIT and REC, I am sure Pakistan can create PIT)

^^^ sure I can give u many examples, are you interested in university level or secondary schools?
GIKI, LUMS, PINSTIC, IBA, AKU are fine examples and equal if not better than IIT, though these are limited and need to replicated across country? IIT has 7 campuses across india and its a huge country.

^ not even close. May be in a few decades you can have something like the RECs. Claiming they're better than IITs is far fetched if you go by the acceptance and accomplishments of the alumni.

Actually Pakistan has 3 schools associated directly with Ivy League schools in the US. You can find all this info at the HEC website. Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman is a brilliant man and he has done a lot for the country on the matter of education. Boy can the make speak. Can't wait for him to come by here again.
