Yes, sadly even our own Muslim (Pakistani even) brothers and sisters have been sucked into this propaganda machine. They are using this word more and more, we can see on this forum too.. Yes we do have a problem of suicide bombers, corrupt religious authorities, corrupt elite, all who support these “jihadis”..
BUT PLEASE I ask my brothers and sisters, stop using THIS WORD. So annoying, so immature, so childish! Just use the word terrorist, why mess up a beautiful word Jihad and beautiful practise of Jihad and those who practise Jihad are called Mujahideen, not jihadi. They fight for a good cause!
So for those who do you use it, may I ask what makes you use this word instead of something like “terrorist” ?
Cricket, you're right and I'm not defending the use of the word jihadi but I think the reason that its used so much not only here but in news and media is that the terrorists themselves consider themselves to be jihadis. They think they're doing the right thing and fighting for a blessed cause...if they didnt, they wouldnt be suicide-bombing and blowing up buildings yeah? So thats how they refer to themselves. I think the media in US actually started using the term "militant Islaamist" along with terrorist instead of jihadi...maybe we can all try to be more "politically correct" here :)
And actually, if they were called terrorists rather than jihadis by all good Muslims...perhaps they'd learn. If they were rejected by the Muslim world....told loudly and often that terrorists are not welcome, they are not Muslim etc...that could be a wonderful step in the right direction.

To me these so called jihadies were created by these Consulates and our govt then the former SSG general the great MUSHY, used it as a card to hold on to the power...
Remove the consulates, barb-wire the border ( Pak-Afghan) and there will be no jihadies in Pakistan...

These Consulates are definitely a problem but if you think that all these jehadis come from the factories of these consulates, then you highly over-estimate the Indians. Most of these jihadis are the product of some anti-national elements in our country for whom a pan-islamic identity is much bigger than the country. These "jihadis" are not just a product of those consulates, history tells us clearly, the superpowers of this world produce,train,fund these groups left to right to create havoc in a country, to destabilize it, then this destabilization helps in cheering on the "good guys" for their installation of "democracy".. they destroy the country without even stepping foot in it unlike the old days.

To stay on topic, 'jihad' literally means 'struggle', not 'war' or 'kill' as you may have been fed by the media. Ex: I am in a constant jihad to finish my studies.

Keeping the mentality of FATA people in mind, we can call it Domino effect, These consulates are there to do spark the differences between the trbies, provide them we the resources, and to preach them "Islam" as per their needs...
Rest is reaction.. and when Americans and Pakistani Securtiy forces react to this violence.. some innocents also die...and these consulates play with their emotions... the cycle moves on...
Pakistan need to bomb all of these and if cannot bomb them.. expose them in the international media... but i guess govt lacks the spine to do all that..
