I was talking to this hardcore jamaat guy and debating with him on why talibs are doing unislamic acts and should be dealt with an iron fist. Needless to say he was dancing around the issue between defending them in whatever they do including khudkhush hamlaas (it’s all revenge you know!) or terming everything a conspiracy (don’t ask me how he can defend their acts and then say it’s western propaganda in the same sentence!).
Topic of zardari came up and I asked him how jamaat feels about a shia leader as the head of state and you should have seen the look in this guy’s face. I really thought he was going to die. I have never seen such a pale face on a brown man before. He asked what I meant and I told him that bhuttos and zardaris are shias and for 15 minutes I think he could not believe it.
Thankfully my food had come (I was at a restaurant) and I left before he got too angry. But it was too funny to not share here.

Well zardaris got an AalaM at their house .. So he is shia for sure .. I personally know that Benzair allotted funds for an Imam Bargah at Steel mills Karachi , so never claimed but she had soft corner of shia minority ...

They should sell the land of Pakistan off to China. The residents of todays Pakistan are not worthy of the land… in essence, the country was created for all the muslims to live in peace… and they can’t even do that… koi haal nahi :hinna:
Believe me that’s all they are doing , still arguing about the right definition of a Muslim , for them any body who has a different stance than them , is a non muslim ..
In coming years , situation will going to get worst , and one day the nation will itself let the invaders to come and rule us ..

Shouldn't you be happy that one of your own is elected to the highest positions of power in Pakistan? Oh I am sorry, since they are Sindhi/Baluchi instead of Urdu speaking they don't count.
The problem of extremism in Pakistan has been perpetuated from many sides, yet its clear that you come here with a particular agenda of bashing certain religious groups. I would argue that you are no better than those very extremists that you supposedly hate.
Shias in Pakistan are as much Pakistanis and Muslims as Sunnis, so STOP the sectarianism.

I'm not shia and I hate all fundos regardless of ethnic or religious grouping.
Alright, no problem then. A Pakistani irrespective of religion should be treated equally.
I do condemn the acts of violence against Shias. They are at most 20% of the population, what do Sunnis have to fear? Absolute disgrace.
It has nothing to do with what they have to fear, it has something to do with what they have to gain.
I mean wouldnt you want a 20% raise in your pay? Then, imagine if you could get the land, homes, wealth and jobs of 20% of the people in Pakistan, wouldnt that make you richer? The Sunni population is growing at 3%, the size of Pakistan is not. So, it would make sense to kill the Shia, so children of the Sunni can have their home, land, jobs etc.
Shias would probably do the same thing with Sunnis for the same reason, if they could. Also, by the way, Islam is not the only religion that has these types of tribal identities, that uses such distinctions to kill each other. So, I am not trying to criticize Sunni Islam.
In the end the argument between Shia and Sunni is like an argument between two children about which one is more real Super Man or Spider Man?
