Snoopy Parents

Re: Snoopy Parents

Of course it matters when you start snooping. I say the earlier the better!

Honestly 13/14 is the prime age when kids get influenced by their peers and are the most vulnerable. It's when kids are 'seniors' in junior high or have recently started high school and feel they've 'grown up'. It's the time to maximize your snoopiness!!

In my opinion, it's never to early to start being snoopy. But for the most part, kids really are angels till the age of 10-11. You should begin your snooping when they start junior high. That's when the peer pressure, raging hormones, puberty, adolescence kicks in.

Re: Snoopy Parents

Does snooping really accomplish anything? Surely if the kid catches you snooping around, he's likely to start finding better hiding places, become more secretive as well as get more drawn to the activity you're trying to banish. If your kid was into dangerous activity like smoking or drugs, that is easy to identify anyway, even without the snooping. Instead I think a threat of chittar or danday would act as a better deterrent. Tell the kid what's allowed and what's not, and if he ever gets caught he knows what to expect.
