wow

I always thought it to some little almost useless thing.
Till recently, when I had to look into to it, to make it work for some thing.

Even started looking at how it was developed I was like WOW.

This is no joke. Some thing I want indulge into now.

I am just happy I discover it.

I am amazed.

Lots of security issues with it. Google it.
It comes in handy for monitoring purposes as long as you’ve familiarize yourself with the various manufacturer’s MIB’s (not Men In Black).

I didn’t intend it to use for networks and stuff.

I mean isn’t it amazing how it can accommodate any device into it?
And can send traps to monitoring device ?

think out side of the box(pc/network), TB its simply amazing.

It does tons more than help with monitoring. You can actually control remote machines with it, including shut machines down by automated scripts (usually with power-supply software). But its all UDP so leaves a lot to be desired.
But as you said, its amazing in all it can do. Its been actively utilized for decades!

see most industrial automation machines, and hmmm almost all complicated machine gives computer like interfaces.
Some are open source too.

You can have this thing talking to them and put info on LC’s map vitalizing software.

Chalo aap duno mil ker ek company banao… make this work and have remote sensors. sell it in pakistan.

I worked with it sometime back for monitoring remote devices on campus . Really cool stuff .
