Re: Sniffing the network
Verizon, why do you want the packets to be encrypted while in transit?

Re: Sniffing the network
So I dont get fired for being on Gupistan Full Time. Our network segment is sniffed daily for various reasons that are out of scope for this thread.
Re: Sniffing the network
i see, is that the only reason? in that case use a proxy :>
trust me if the network admin really wanted to know what you were doing, he can still find out even if you have encryption/proxy etc
Re: Sniffing the network
^^ Trust you, nope I only trust the sniffer. Sure anything can be hacked but it does take compute power to hack. I could care less about the network admin, or sys admin and we are behind a firewall and proxy server, It is the data security/corporate security that are vigilant about monitoring networks. Kaleem can probably shed more light on security aspects but generally anything unencrypted is not good in a corp environment.
What bothered me was the amount of traffic that was generated between the session and refreshing the page (automatically, i think). Anyway its OK guys, not a big deal, I wont leave the page up all the time and write my posts in notepad and copy/paste. There are always workarounds/bandaids to issues.
Re: Sniffing the network
Hey, where did my question disappear? I had asked, "why do you want the packets to be encrypted while in transit?" Who deleted it? And did you answer? Please answer.
Re: Sniffing the network
Oh sorry, it's amazing but I couldnt see it before. I see rest of the posts now. Thank you.
Re: Sniffing the network
^^ No it is amazing to see that you missed your answer, dont try to decrypt sniffer packets, they are like looking for a needle in a haystack. Just kidding.
Re: Sniffing the network
Do u know, that ISA server can give u an entire report of each user, by his IP of each & every web page that he/she visits.
Of course the report can be broken down too.
