Wow i’m surprised nobody’s reviewed this movie till now. Its a brit masterpiece by Madonna’s husband Guy Ritchie, made right after his first gangster hit ‘Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrells’.
Its about the journey of an 82 karat diamond that travels from one ganster’s grip to another and how an unlicensed boxing promoter and a sweet talking gypsy get caught up in the middle of it all. Gangsters with names like Bullet Tooth Tony, Brick Top, Boris the Bullet Dodger, Gorgeous George, Frankie Four Fingers etc all put up a brilliant show chasing the one diamond showing no mercy on their way.
Though the language is a bit too coarse (18+ all the way) the movie is non stop stomach rippling if you have a sweet tooth for british gangster comedy.
The star studded cast includes names like Brad Pitt, Vinnie Jones, Jason Statham, Benecio Del Toro, Dennis Farina and many more.
Snatch is the perfect movie for a guys movie night although most desi women might not end up watching all of it. You might also be better off not watching it with family and kids due to the language factor. If you’re good with all that, go rent it today.
