if somebody is a gold smuggler and he runs his business peacefully without physically hurting anybody. pays excellent packages to his employees and shares his wealth with the needy and poor folks.
I know its a crime.
But is it a sin?

I can't quote a source, but I do remember reading **somewhere **that following the laws of your society was wajib so long as they didn't contradict with Islamic principles. This would make things like speeding haraam.

Islam demand u to follow laws of the land u live in and smuggling is not legal in any country i think....
