If you are in the UK. Purchase a Lebara SIM. I think you can get them free online too; if not ASDA sell them for £1.96 (with £1 credit pre-loaded)
Top up the SIM like normal and it is 10p to send an SMS anywhere in the world. I have been using it for quite a while now and it has been very effective and even to call it is relatively cheaper. You don’t have to mess around with any pre-fix numbers and you get a UK based mobile number.

Yes im from UK
i have purchsed the lebara sim - but now i have come across o2 international text abroad for 10p and if you top-up £15 a month you get 100 mins free to international mobile and landline
