I am searching as well but if anyone can let me know what can or should be definitely done in a day trip.
What would be an ideal place to stay.
Also the group includes young kids too so something kid friendly and not too exhausting.
Thanks
Re: smoky mountains info/guidance
Don't go there in spring with small children.
Re: smoky mountains info/guidance
Why not ? Cold, too many people ?
We are going at the end of May.
And I see so many easy trails and falls where people have commented can be done with kids.
Re: smoky mountains info/guidance
we've passed through but not done a trip specifically for the mountains.
I know that there are native american reservations that you can visit......we did that when I was about 6 years old......
Re: smoky mountains info/guidance
Smoky mountains is truly a four-season park. March through May is usually fairly busy. The fall, especially October with its fall colors, is also a popular time.
and It's hot and humid in the summer, period.
In a day trip, Early morning and late afternoon/early evening are best for wildlife viewing
and I think its OK to go there because there are many things that may facsinate kids.

Thanks.
I did some search and found that June is very busy month, lots of traffic so you end up spending a lot of time on the road.
Dont know how true that is but we decided to postpone Smoky mountains.
We are going to Mammoth Caves and Ruby Falls now.
appreciate any input for these places.
