smoking

smoking infront of kids should be banned!

we went to someones house over the weekend and there were quite a few lil kids under the age of 4 (all of them) including my bubba..

now the men were outside and women inside. Hebz kept going in out and out.. when we got home they both stank and here my hubby informed me that the men were smoking outside.. so i was a lil peeved, cus heba stank of cigarette smoke and so did the hubz… but what really peeved me off was..

yesterday

she had a lollypop in her mouth.. and she goes to me.. “look mama… fire on lollypop..” so i turn to see her, she is holding her lollypop like a cigarette and saying there is a fire and her hand is burning

Im peeved cus we should have been more responsible.. AND other parents SHOULD NOT smoke infront of kids.. uggh

Re: smoking

Totally agree with you. But she'll get exposed to it at one point or another. When you feel it's right, I would talk to her about it (she might be too young now, but you don't have to wait too long).

Re: smoking

cant protect them from something as everyday as smoking.. i agree with sahar.. talk to her.. mashallah she is a clever kid.. she will grab on fast :)

Re: smoking

You cannot always control the environment, some people will always smoke and we aren't always in a position to tell them not to do so. She is just a kid. Kids sometimes mimic things they see, but that's not always something to worry about. Insha Allah when she is old enough, she will be able to distinguish right from wrong.

Re: smoking

Great NHS advert.

Re: smoking

i agree with the others. you can't protect her all the time. just let her know that smoking is not a good thing for her, and that she shouldn't copy it when she sees other doing it.
